Key Responsibilities

This role is pivotal in executing and spearheading Continuous Improvement initiatives while promoting World Class Operations Management practices within the facility. The selected candidate will be an integral part of the plant leadership team and may take on additional responsibilities across various functions to meet the plant's operational objectives.

Primary Duties Include:
  • Championing safety as a core value and collaborating with the EHS Manager to uphold safety policies and programs.
  • Driving the integration of Continuous Improvement principles into the plant's culture.
  • Identifying high-impact cost-saving projects and coordinating project teams to ensure adequate resources for successful project completion.
  • Participating in daily production and operational discussions to guarantee product quality, meet customer service commitments, and enhance efficiency.
  • Establishing a reputation as a leader and problem solver, providing guidance and expertise to enhance performance.
  • Coaching and developing management skills among engineers, supervisors, and staff, while maintaining a strong presence on the production floor.
  • Leading training initiatives to cultivate a continuous improvement mindset within the organization.
  • Managing significant projects aimed at improving plant performance.
  • Utilizing data from various systems to identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Coordinating efforts to elevate Continuous Improvement outcomes as assessed through regular audits.
  • Generating reporting tools and progress updates for the designated business area.
  • Facilitating the sharing of best practices internally and externally.
  • Overseeing communication processes to report on the status of improvement projects.
  • Guiding project selection and policy deployment to ensure clarity of goals and objectives for a successful operational year.
  • Exhibiting the ability to drive change and navigate challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrating and promoting Amcor's Core Values, contributing to a high-performance culture.
  • Adapting to new technologies and management strategies.
  • Employing an approachable and collaborative style to motivate teams towards achieving higher performance standards.
  • Experience with lean principles or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
Qualifications

We seek candidates who embody our values and are committed to excellence.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a technical field such as engineering or industrial technology.
  • Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years in operations management is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP is essential.
