Under the guidance of the Production Manager, the Sanitation & Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in anticipating and fulfilling the evolving needs and objectives of Wohlt Creamery. This senior-level position is designed to provide strong, fair, and consistent leadership to team members while nurturing an atmosphere of trust and open dialogue.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive and may be expanded to include additional tasks as deemed necessary by management:
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards, including but not limited to: Human Resources, Good Manufacturing Practices, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Food and Drug Administration, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection, Safe Quality Food, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
- Foster a high-performance culture by cultivating a positive, team-oriented work environment that encourages continuous improvement, innovative thinking, teamwork, and safety.
- Develop necessary skills and knowledge to maintain production efficiency in alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain thorough communication with the Production Manager to prevent production gaps during shift changes.
- Show respect and understanding for production runs completed during the first shift.
- Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports in accordance with business objectives while promoting teamwork and unity.
- Inspect products and equipment to ensure compliance with federal and state sanitation regulations and plant standards.
- Adhere to required SSOPs for the cleaning of equipment and work areas to meet SQF standards, ensuring readiness for the next production day.
- Compile necessary reports on regular inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management and production staff on sanitation issues and recommend improvements in equipment, layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to enhance sanitation standards and product quality.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices for packaging supplies, chemicals, labels, and other materials essential for accurate production.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment as needed and submit work orders to the Maintenance Department for major repairs.
- Manage chemical product costs within the established budget.
- Document and administer disciplinary actions, both verbal and written, when necessary.
- Promote a safe, secure, and positive work environment for all employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
