Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to work with agencies on complex issues, providing operating and capital budgetary and programmatic expertise to agency heads, fiscal officers, the Legislature, and assisting in the development and production of the Governor's Recommended Budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and evaluate agency budgets and grant opportunities at the State level.
  • Provide budgetary and programmatic expertise to agency heads, fiscal officers, the Legislature, and the Governor.
  • Review and analyze preliminary budget data in preparation of budget targets and assist agencies in their interpretation and implementation of budget guidelines and policies.
  • Review and analyze legislation to determine fiscal and organizational impact.
  • Conduct special studies and plan, develop, implement, and monitor public budgetary policy.
Requirements

Applicants must have education, training, and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Administration, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in financial administration, including comprehensive analysis of programs, budgets, projects, services, alternatives, and costs.
  • Experience in providing guidance and direction to management/officials in accomplishing financial, program, and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Experience in developing, reviewing, and analyzing public policies.
  • Experience in analyzing legislation.
Working Conditions
