Financial Specialist


Job Overview: The financial specialist is tasked with overseeing fiscal documentation, generating financial summaries, scrutinizing monetary data, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations. This role is vital in bolstering the financial stability and strategic decision-making of the organization.

Core Duties:

Fiscal Documentation Management:

Maintain precise and current fiscal records, encompassing ledgers, journals, and financial statements.

Document all monetary transactions, ensuring they are accurately recorded and categorized.

Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents as necessary.

Financial Summary Preparation:

Compile regular financial summaries, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Create financial forecasts and budgets to aid in planning and decision-making processes.

Deliver financial summaries to management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies as required.

Monetary Analysis:

Examine financial data and trends to provide insights into the organization's fiscal performance.

Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and process enhancements.

Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial outcomes with budgeted or projected figures.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.

Prepare and submit tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes.

Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.

Internal Control Development:

Establish and implement internal controls to protect company assets and mitigate fraud risks.

Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal controls, recommending enhancements as needed.

Maintain documentation of internal control procedures and protocols.

Financial Systems Oversight:

Utilize accounting software and other financial tools to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.

Maintain and update financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and security.

Provide training and support to team members on financial systems and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline (CPA designation preferred).

Demonstrated experience in accounting or finance roles, with a solid grasp of financial principles and practices.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

$60,000 - $85,000 a year
