Job Summary

The State of Maryland is seeking a highly skilled Health Policy Analyst II to join our team. As a key member of our regulatory affairs team, you will play a critical role in drafting regulations, ensuring compliance with legislation, and representing the State in various workgroups and committees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Director and the Board in drafting regulations and ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Represent the State in various workgroups and committees related to healthcare policy and regulation.
  • Coordinate with Board of Nursing Directors, units within the Department of Health, and committees of the General Assembly to develop and plan for regulatory changes.
  • Prepare reports for the Board on legislation impacting nursing practice and the State's activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, advocacy groups, and community organizations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching, and developing healthcare services, policies, and programs.
  • Experience with Google Suites and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with the public, managing stakeholder workgroups, conducting legislative research, and healthcare policy and regulation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, or closely related field.
  • Doctorate degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, or closely related field.
Benefits

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.
