About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Program Specialist II to join our team at the State of Maryland. As a key member of our Office of Long Term Services and Supports, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to Medicaid home and community-based services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and track records requests, constituent inquiries, and Public Information Act (PIA) requests received from the Intranet Quorum (IQ)
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify trends that may warrant additional investigation
  • Support all Medicaid home and community-based services under the purview of the Office of Long Term Services and Supports (OLTSS)
  • Draft written correspondence in response to PIA requests, record requests, and constituent inquiries for leadership review
  • Work collaboratively with each program in the Directorate to prepare a thorough and accurate response
  • Participate in stakeholder committees and workgroups for policy development
  • Perform research and analysis to design and direct the implementation of new workflows and project tasks related to constituent requests or inquiries and appeals or fair hearings
  • Develop and present recommendations concerning alternative approaches to the delivery, financing, and evaluation of Medicaid HCBS
  • Consult on strategies for program policies, program operations, and program evaluation for the Department's leadership
Requirements
  • Seven years of administrative or professional experience developing or applying policies and regulations in medical assistance, health insurance, federal or State entitlement programs
  • Experience with Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Gmail

As a contractual employee, you will be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for yourself and your dependents. You will also accrue leave at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
