Construction Equipment Technician

We are looking for dedicated, dependable, and safety-oriented professionals to join our team as Construction Equipment Technicians. In this position, you will be tasked with the prompt and efficient upkeep, diagnosis, and repair of various brands and types of construction machinery. This encompasses electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics, managing parts inventory, ordering supplies, writing reports, and scheduling maintenance tasks.

This role requires outdoor work in diverse weather conditions. We strictly follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations in the Metals Recycling Industry.

Key Responsibilities for a Construction Equipment Technician:

  • Execute basic to moderately complex diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for fuel, electrical, mechanical, brake, cooling, and hydraulic systems on a variety of machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance activities (oil and filter changes, lubrication, brake servicing, etc.) on all construction equipment in accordance with manufacturer and company guidelines.
  • Keep precise service records for all tasks completed.
  • Order and oversee spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with yard General Managers to arrange routine or emergency maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Ensure the safe and proper use of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Conduct all tasks in full compliance with safety and environmental protocols.

Qualifications for a Construction Equipment Technician:

  • A Vocational/Technical degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel maintenance is strongly desired.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills are advantageous.
