Field Technician I - Construction Materials Testing

RCG Moody International Limited c/- Intertek is seeking a Field CMT Technician to support our Building & Construction division. This role presents an excellent opportunity to advance a diverse career within the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) sector.

The CMT Technician position involves executing various testing procedures, conducting project-specific observations, and performing site evaluations under direct supervision or according to established protocols.

The Building & Construction division offers assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services, alongside building science solutions, to ensure Total Quality Assurance in the built environment. Our team provides a comprehensive range of capabilities both in laboratory settings and on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a variety of testing and site assessments under supervision and according to detailed procedures.
  • Operate testing instruments and perform assessments (e.g., soil, concrete) while compiling data for reporting.
  • Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams to guide work.
  • Implement specific methods to observe site activities and execute tasks.
  • Document detailed observations and provide limited interpretations of results.
  • Maintain thorough records and documentation of test outcomes.
  • Use a calculator for mathematical calculations related to test results.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and project teams.
  • Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • No prior experience necessary - training will be provided.
  • Basic math, calculator, and computer skills are essential.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work plans.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • A valid Driver's License and a reliable driving record are mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull weights between 30 to 50 pounds, and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Capability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discern sounds.
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
  • Capacity to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb occasionally.
