We are currently seeking a Production Equipment Technician for our Operations Department.
POSITION SUMMARY
This role is essential in supporting our production teams by performing repairs, making operational adjustments, and executing machine changeovers for equipment utilized in the manufacturing of both industrial and consumer products. The technician will also be responsible for completing work orders related to facility maintenance, part fabrication and repair, machine installation, and general preventive maintenance. A diverse skill set in various trades, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with industrial production machinery, particularly liquid and powder filling machines, capping devices, labeling machines, conveyors, electric and pneumatic pumps, and power transmission components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Adjusting and repairing production and distribution machinery. Systematically troubleshooting issues in accordance with quality principles by identifying and isolating variables. Utilizing knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical principles to complete tasks effectively.
- Responding to production staff requests for assistance in enhancing equipment uptime, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe and optimal equipment operation while producing high-quality output. Collaborating across departments to refine processes.
- Assisting in the training of personnel on the operation of various production machinery, including powered conveyors, filling machines, capping devices, induction sealers, coders, pack-off tables, and taping machines.
- Performing maintenance tasks following established methods and standard operating procedures to uphold high efficiency, quality, and safety standards. Recognizing the importance of maintenance in sustaining a clean and organized work environment as part of the company's safety culture.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing production and facility infrastructure, including heating, gas, water, security, and electrical systems.
- Fabricating parts and modifying machinery using skills in carpentry, metalworking, plumbing, welding, and general mechanical repair.
- Reading and interpreting documents such as safety guidelines, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals. Engaging with vendors to identify and procure machine parts, equipment assemblies, and supplies as needed.
- Adhering to all safety protocols for the operation of powered production equipment, hand tools, and maintenance shop tools.
