Position Overview:
As a Healthcare Admissions Coordinator at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admission process for our patients. Your focus will be on balancing patient comfort with the operational needs of the organization.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $20/hr. to $30/hr.

Work Schedule:
Full Time, Sunday to Saturday, 8 hours, with variable working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the patient check-in and check-out process, including verification of identification and updating demographic and insurance information.
  • Ensure all necessary forms are provided, signed, and witnessed during patient visits.
  • Collect patient payments and prepare end-of-day reporting or payment reconciliation as required.
  • Interact with patients, payers, and providers to gather essential information for accurate registration.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
  • Process physician orders for patient admissions and complete all related admission procedures.
  • Obtain necessary signatures on admission papers and various releases.
  • Conduct admissions during regular hours and check documentation for after-hours admissions.
  • Handle numerous daily telephone inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
  • Maintain necessary supplies for the admissions process.
  • Foster positive relationships within and between departments.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with safety, infection control, and security protocols.
  • Support customer service standards for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Address customer billing and payment inquiries and escalate as necessary.

Qualifications:
1 year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and billing is advantageous.
