Chief Marketing Officer

The Chief Marketing Officer plays a pivotal role in shaping the brand identity of Life University Inc. Reporting directly to the Provost and Chief Academic Officer, this position is tasked with overseeing all facets of marketing operations. The CMO is expected to inspire and lead both internal and external marketing teams to achieve the strategic objectives outlined in the University’s plan.
This role demands a visionary leader who is adept at recognizing trends and translating them into actionable strategies. The ideal candidate will leverage creative communication and advanced technology to enhance the University’s reach and drive growth on both local and global scales. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for conveying marketing strategies in an accessible manner.
Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Collaborate closely with various departments including Enrollment, IT, and the Executive Office to create comprehensive project specifications with clear deliverables and timelines.
- Oversee the entire production process for both print and digital media, from conceptualization to final delivery, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
- Direct graphic design initiatives and project management, ensuring seamless integration with the overall creative strategy.
- Manage all communications efforts, including social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Update and maintain the University’s websites, while also spearheading new digital initiatives.
- Establish and enforce marketing policies and strategies, ensuring alignment with the University’s objectives.
- Administer the marketing budget, ensuring all projects remain within fiscal constraints.
- Plan and oversee key University events, ensuring they align with marketing goals.
- Monitor project scopes and ensure that staffing aligns with budgetary expectations.
- Manage expectations of both internal stakeholders and external partners, proactively addressing potential issues and providing solutions.
- Implement effective tracking systems to measure the success of marketing campaigns and assess return on investment.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the target audience’s online behavior and preferences.
- Provide performance analysis and reporting to the Provost.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, graphic design, marketing, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in a professional marketing environment, including supervisory roles.
- Extensive knowledge of both print and digital production processes, with a proven ability to manage projects from inception to execution.
- Experience supervising both in-house teams and external creative professionals.
- Strong relationship-building skills with vendors and partners.
- Proven ability to conduct performance evaluations and mentor team members for optimal performance.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with internal clients to deliver high-quality creative solutions.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or Digital Media.
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining focus and composure.
- Experience in an educational setting.
