Position Overview

The Healthcare Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of a rural medical facility. This position encompasses a range of administrative responsibilities including:

  • Managing incoming calls and scheduling patient appointments.
  • Collecting and verifying patient insurance details.
  • Processing co-payments and accurately recording patient charges as required.

Additionally, the Assistant is responsible for:

  • Obtaining and relaying Physician Orders to the designated personnel.
  • Informing patients about their referral appointments and necessary outpatient tests.
  • Ensuring patients are aware of any specific instructions from their physicians regarding testing facilities.
  • Forwarding essential patient care documentation to the appropriate facility or provider as instructed.

The Healthcare Administrative Assistant is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and responds promptly to requests from colleagues and patients alike.

Qualifications

Education:
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:
Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting

Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
