Position Overview:

As a vital member of the Trinity Health team, you will play a crucial role in patient care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Medical Assistant. Your expertise will help us uncover the underlying health issues of our patients, bringing us closer to effective treatment solutions.

Utilizing advanced medical technologies and your clinical knowledge, you will assess urgent patient needs and implement necessary emergency protocols when required.

Your organizational skills will be essential in managing documentation efficiently within our electronic medical record system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.

Building trust through professionalism and a strong work ethic is key to your success in this role. You are well-versed in your responsibilities and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth. Maintaining meticulous records and staying updated with the electronic medical record system is paramount. You understand the importance of confidentiality and maintain a clean work environment while adhering to your supervisor's guidelines during patient check-ins.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review medical records and gather relevant information prior to patient visits.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and facilitate smooth patient flow.
  • Conduct tests and procedures, and prepare prescriptions using electronic physician signatures.
  • Assist in patient transfers and manage medication inventory.
  • Exhibit adaptability and maintain a high standard of courtesy in interactions with colleagues, patients, and visitors, even in a high-pressure medical setting.
LPN Specific Duties:

Demonstrate the ability to recognize and respond to urgent patient needs, initiating appropriate emergency actions as necessary. Maintain knowledge of various payer regulations and ensure compliance.

Facilitate effective communication among the healthcare team, assessing patient data and learning needs, and providing comprehensive information to patients and their families.

Follow established protocols for managing electronic medical records, including test results and documentation.

Evaluate patient and family understanding of treatment plans and instructions.

Assist with various procedures and diagnostic equipment operations while adhering to aseptic techniques.

Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record system.

Report findings and relevant information to patients and healthcare team members.

Perform basic nursing functions under the supervision of a healthcare provider.

Medical Assistant Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is required. Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the initial months of employment.

LPN Qualifications:

A current LPN license issued by the State of Iowa is essential. Experience in a clinic or physician office setting is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training are required within the first few months of hire.
