The Material Flow Engineering division is on the lookout for a skilled and driven Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the design and execution of automated guided vehicles and related systems for various manufacturing facilities and initiatives. This role demands a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, collaborating with a dedicated and agile team to tackle some of the most ambitious engineering challenges in the industry today. The team specializes in the design and integration of autonomous mobile robotic vehicles for diverse applications, including conveyance, warehousing, and assembly within production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer automated material handling solutions to enhance and optimize material flows across facilities utilizing automated vehicles.
  • Create analytical models to define design specifications and overall system performance metrics.
  • Assist in the development, detailed engineering design, and assembly of mobile robot initiatives.
  • Deploy mobile robots in both testing and operational settings.
  • Formulate testing protocols to ensure compliance with functional, performance, and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and refine automated processes to maximize efficiency and operational uptime.
  • Identify and implement corrective measures for equipment malfunctions and persistent failures.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including Managers, Supervisors, and Operators.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Over 2 years of experience in material handling automation, including AS/RS, electric monorail systems, conveyance, mobile robotics (AGVs or AMRs), and robotic material handling.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • A genuine interest in mechanical automation systems, robotics, and the design of electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, along with motion control and navigation technologies.
  • Comprehension of integrating equipment design into existing or new systems.
  • Ability to apply logical and innovative thinking to a variety of intellectual and practical challenges.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar modeling software.
  • A robust engineering foundation with practical design and development experience.
  • Understanding of the complexities associated with autonomous system requirements, algorithms, and operational environments.
