Position Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Tech USA, you will take charge of the design and implementation of mechanical systems for various projects spanning sectors such as Education, Arts, Healthcare, K-12, Civic, and Energy. Your leadership will guide mechanical engineering teams in producing top-notch construction documentation utilizing Revit, while also overseeing project timelines to ensure all deliverables are met efficiently.

Your role will encompass leading the design of mechanical building systems and generating comprehensive mechanical engineering drawings and calculations. You will also manage a team of Mechanical Designers and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage collaboratively with architects, engineers, and clients throughout the integrated design process.
  • Develop and coordinate documentation using Revit software.
  • Conduct mechanical and HVAC calculations, including thorough code research.
  • Perform plumbing and fire protection calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
  • Draft and review technical specifications.
  • Evaluate shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and assess submittals.
  • Conduct site inspections as necessary.
  • Lead mechanical project teams and/or interdisciplinary teams effectively.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in HVAC system design, central utility plants, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
  • Strong understanding of the design and construction processes, with the ability to communicate effectively with professionals from various disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LEED accreditation.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM), particularly Autodesk Revit workflows.
  • Background in building energy modeling.
