Role Overview:

The Senior Systems & Safety Engineer will play a pivotal role within our Systems and Safety team, focusing on the development of requirements and safety protocols essential for the deployment of autonomous vehicles on public roads in the United States.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and understand the differences in operational requirements between European and US markets, including regulations and operational design domains (ODD).
  • Specify driving behavior requirements and functional scenarios to support the verification and safe deployment of autonomous systems.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure compliance with safety acceptance criteria for public road operations.
  • Lead the creation of safety plans and reports for US deployments, engaging with external stakeholders including business partners and regulatory agencies.
  • Identify relevant laws and traffic control criteria to ensure safe autonomous driving.
  • Establish functional requirements and scenarios tailored to US operations.
  • Work with verification and validation teams to set pass/fail criteria for various testing environments.
  • Evaluate the Safety Assurance Case for product releases and address any identified gaps.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality-focused roles related to complex software-controlled systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.

  • Proven technical leadership abilities within diverse teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills to facilitate collaboration across global teams.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and manage changing priorities.

  • Understanding of autonomous systems evaluation, including metrics and requirements.
  • Experience in use case and scenario analysis.
  • Solid foundation in systems engineering principles.

Work Flexibility:
  • Ability to accommodate time zone differences between US and international locations.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for business needs.
