Senior Mechanical Principal Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our Custom Design and Emerging Technology division, focusing on the development of cutting-edge data center infrastructure solutions. Your expertise will contribute to the advancement of next-generation technologies through innovative engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Mechanical Principal Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, addressing both customer-specific solutions and new technology initiatives.
  • Creating comprehensive system solutions that span from compute systems to customer data centers.
  • Exhibiting engineering excellence and leadership across various disciplines, including mechanical, power, and thermal management.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, original design manufacturers (ODMs), and suppliers to drive project success.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing cost-effective testing and troubleshooting methodologies for systems.
  • Regularly presenting findings and proposals to leadership and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 8 years with a master's degree.
  • Proven experience in addressing complex thermal and mechanical challenges at both the IT hardware and data center levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in presenting to leadership and clients.
  • Proficiency in CAD and various simulation software tools.
  • A deep understanding of hardware and software interactions, enabling quick and effective problem resolution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of rack form factors, specifications, and industry standards.

Compensation and Benefits:

Dell Technologies is dedicated to equitable compensation practices, with a salary range for this position set between $168,000 and $205,000.
