Position Overview

Sigma Computing is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to enhance our accounting team. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our financial processes and will be based in our San Francisco office.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Report directly to the Director of Accounting.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of customer contracts, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards under ASC 606.
  • Prepare detailed supporting schedules to document contract modifications and revenue calculations, aligning with the company's accounting policies.
  • Oversee billing operations, ensuring accuracy in sales tax assessments on invoices.
  • Maintain up-to-date revenue accounting records within our systems.
  • Contribute to the month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue cycle analysis.
  • Assist with sales tax filings and collaborate closely with FP&A teams to support their collection efforts.
  • Respond to management inquiries related to the revenue cycle and seek opportunities for process improvements.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a background in public accounting or corporate finance.
  • 2+ years of experience with ERP/General Ledger systems.
  • 2+ years of familiarity with ASC 606 and accounts receivable functions.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, capable of handling large datasets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret financial data effectively.
  • A proactive approach, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
  • A collaborative spirit that fosters inclusiveness and communication within the team.
  • Proven project management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • CPA certification.
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce.
  • Revenue accounting experience in a SaaS environment.
  • Background in accounting automation and implementation.
  • Experience contributing to US GAAP financial audits.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from $100,000 to $130,000 annually, with variations based on qualifications and experience. This position also includes eligibility for stock options and a comprehensive benefits package, which encompasses:
