Construction Materials Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Engineering Specialist to join our team at S&ME. As a key member of our construction services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials on our projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Reviewing plans and specifications to prepare for field observations on construction sites
- Documenting field activities, observations, and testing results on projects
- Utilizing field and laboratory information management systems to track and record data
- Calibrating field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards
- Performing Special Inspection observations per the International Building Code (IBC)
- Communicating daily with management staff, general contractors, and clients
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in construction testing and inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
- Effective communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing in English
- Good math skills, including a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
- The ability to complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device
- 1 or more active industry certifications, such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI) or International Code Council (ICC)
