Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic team, working under the guidance of our Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The CNC Operator will be primarily engaged in the production operations of our machine shop, while also contributing to bench work tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize 5+ years of experience in CNC operations to produce high-quality components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately, ensuring precise setups and machining of parts.
  • Employ machinist hand tools and measuring instruments proficiently, adhering to strict tolerances.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, fostering both independent and collaborative work environments.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn new machinery and software applications.
  • Receive training on machine setups specific to our equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ProtoTRAK CNC and/or Siemens control programming is advantageous.
  • Completion of a machine tool technology program, machinist apprenticeship, or a relevant Trade School program is preferred.

Southwestern Industries designs and manufactures a diverse range of machine tools and CNC controls, including knee mills, bed mills, and lathes. Our ProtoTRAK control system is specifically engineered for skilled machinists producing parts in small quantities.
