Position Summary
The Credit & Collection Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the company's credit and collections processes. This position is tasked with evaluating customer credit profiles and ensuring accounts remain within established credit limits to minimize financial risk. The analyst will also handle disputes and perform reconciliations on customer accounts, while generating relevant reports for management.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accounts receivable aging remains within acceptable limits according to company standards.
- Oversee the credit queue, approving orders in a timely manner.
- Lead collection efforts for assigned accounts by engaging with customers to secure timely payments.
- Provide updates to management regarding overdue accounts, particularly those exceeding 120 days.
- Collaborate effectively with Sales and Operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies that may hinder payment collection.
- Participate in risk management initiatives alongside Credit and Collections leadership.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate customer records, including contact information.
- Coordinate with external collection agencies when necessary.
- Analyze client payment behaviors to recommend actions on delinquent accounts.
- Assess customer records and transaction history to suggest adjustments to credit limits.
- Conduct account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in charges and cash applications.
- Compile and analyze account data to prepare detailed reports on trends and performance.
- Safeguard customer information by maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist with various projects and audits as required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of experience in credit and collections, preferably in a B2B environment.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred.
- NACM certification is a plus.
- A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A friendly and professional demeanor, capable of interacting with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Flexibility to take on additional accounting responsibilities as needed.
- Familiarity with compliance programs, systems, and software.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
