Key Responsibilities
The Member Lending Analyst plays a vital role in supporting our loan participation program and lending operations. This position involves a blend of traditional lending responsibilities along with analytical tasks and investment-related activities.
The ideal candidate will possess prior analytical experience with relational databases, business intelligence tools, and/or predictive modeling software. Key responsibilities include:
- Compiling and analyzing data from various sources to inform decision-making.
- Validating unstructured data and transforming it into standardized outputs for credit and valuation models.
- Evaluating credit quality, leverage, and risk metrics of consumer loans for portfolio packaging.
- Managing the credit model to assess and monitor financial institutions that have received credit.
- Conducting evaluations of counterparty risk and recommending adjustments to members' lines of credit.
This role also requires a strategic mindset to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements within the department. Critical thinking and collaboration with team members are essential for developing and articulating effective solutions.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- A BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience in designing and developing ETL workflows and datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income Analysis/Valuation and/or Financial Analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Macros and VBA).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
- A detail-oriented approach with the capability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience in credit analysis and loan administration is advantageous.
Additional Skills
Preferred qualifications include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Suite applications.
- A comprehensive understanding of loan underwriting processes and financial ratio calculations.
- A minimum of three years of experience in lending institutions with a focus on consumer or institutional lending.
- Strong skills in calculating and interpreting key financial ratios.
