Collections Risk Analyst

Overview

As a Collections Risk Analyst, you will oversee all reports assigned to you.

Your role involves managing your Collection Queues on a daily basis, securing balances on accounts, arranging payments, negotiating settlements, and processing payments.

You will also be tasked with making outbound calls to clients and financial institutions, as well as handling incoming calls and returning customer inquiries.

It is essential to keep skip tracing information current, document each account you manage, and respond to customer correspondence.

All customer interactions should be recorded through case notes or our internal documentation process. You will have the authority to place customer accounts on ban control to recover funds and initiate ACH debits. You will also make decisions regarding the write-off or waiver of account balances and may outsource accounts to third-party collection agencies.


Additionally, you will engage in various Risk Management activities, including closing customer accounts and collaborating with different departments to ensure optimal decision-making.

A minimum collection rate of 14% of your queue per month is expected, with an overall team average of 45% per month.

What You'll Bring

- Prior experience in Collections, preferably within the payments sector (minimum 1 year)
- Proficiency in skip tracing
- Strong soft phone skills
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Data entry proficiency
- High school diploma or GED is required
- QuickBooks experience is advantageous

Workload Management

- Monitor and complete assigned tasks efficiently
- Achieve a minimum collection rate of 14% of your queue monthly
- Ensure work rates reflect 85% or higher
- Maintain a call volume of no less than 35 per scheduled workday, aligning with peer performance
- Monthly queue assessments should indicate a success score of 95%+, ensuring all Collections queues are current and within SLA
- Adhere to a 24–48-hour SLA for new tasks and debts
- Follow up on scheduled tasks within 48 hours of the follow-up date
- Exercise discretion in waiving amounts less than $250 to act promptly

Secondary Functions:
- Complete tasks assigned by supervisors or managers in their absence
- Participate in miscellaneous projects as required
- Take on responsibilities independently as directed by management
- Assist in training new hires or temporary staff when necessary
- Serve as a backup for designated colleagues
