Engineering Officer Training Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction, operational guidance, testing, curriculum development, and management support for formal naval training programs.
- Conduct training services focused on main propulsion, electrical systems, auxiliary systems, and damage control. Specifically:
- Instruct Senior and Junior Officers on engineering systems aboard naval vessels.
- Review and enhance course materials.
- Create and modify assessments.
- Support training for other ship classes for Junior Officers.
- Willingness to travel for onboard training experiences.
Travel Requirements: Anticipated travel up to 25% to support training schedules.
Physical Demands: Primarily office-based work with potential classroom and shipboard instruction. May involve repetitive tasks and require navigating confined spaces.
Security Clearance: A DoD Secret security clearance is required. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain this clearance.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must have prior experience as a U.S. Navy Senior Surface Ship Gas Turbine Electrical rating or equivalent.
- Completion of relevant engineering officer training programs.
- Extensive knowledge of gas turbine systems and high voltage operations.
- Completion of instructor training courses.
- Minimum of three years of instructional experience in relevant courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.
- Master Training Specialist certification.
- Experience with DDG 1000 systems.
- High voltage electrical experience.
- CPR certification.
