Position Summary

McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is in search of a Lead Systems Engineer with extensive experience to assist with ongoing systems engineering initiatives within the NUWC Division, specifically the Newport Submarine Missiles Division.

This role involves the integration of various technologies, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.


Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will leverage their expertise in systems engineering and scientific methodologies to:

  • Conduct thorough system analyses and design evaluations.
  • Perform system testing and data collection, ensuring comprehensive analysis.
  • Develop, review, and refine testing protocols and technical documentation.

Essential Duties:

The candidate will:

  • Utilize knowledge of system engineering principles to define and characterize product and process behaviors.
  • Incorporate technical, cost, and safety factors into product definitions to align with Department of Defense standards.
  • Interpret and develop requirements, specifications, and data sets.
  • Collaborate with project team members to devise and implement engineering solutions that meet mission objectives.
  • Address programmatic and technical challenges that may impact cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Establish, document, and maintain engineering processes, methodologies, and tools.

Qualifications:Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related discipline. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Significant engineering experience, particularly in system development and analysis.
  • A goal-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in developing solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Capability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred:
  • Experience in submarine systems or subsystem engineering and testing.
