Job Overview

The Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate extensively with various departments including Production, Business Development, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain Management. This role focuses on the development, assessment, and enhancement of customer quoting processes, manufacturing methodologies, and overall operational efficiency within the UPM Additive Solutions sector.

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. On-Site.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Key Responsibilities in Manufacturing Processes:
  • Assess manufacturing techniques by designing and executing research initiatives; utilizing knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; consulting with equipment suppliers; gathering insights from operators.
  • Formulate and execute manufacturing processes by analyzing product specifications; researching, designing, modifying, and testing production methods, machinery, and innovative technologies; collaborating with equipment suppliers.
  • Enhance manufacturing productivity by evaluating and organizing workflow, spatial requirements, and equipment configuration.
  • Ensure product and process integrity by developing testing methodologies and control systems; evaluating finished products and process capabilities; establishing benchmarks; validating manufacturing procedures; optimizing efficiency.
  • Assist in recognizing and implementing corrective measures for nonconforming components.
Additional Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Programming of machinery and measurement devices; troubleshooting programming malfunctions; diagnosing operational issues; providing effective solutions.
  • Proactively assess, identify, and implement strategies and/or processes to address production challenges and/or reduce costs.
  • Design of manufacturing equipment fixtures, tooling, and gauging systems. Machine programming, quality engineering process design, and execution.
  • Maintain professional and technical expertise by participating in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, establishing professional networks, and engaging in industry associations.
