Job Overview

The Mechanical Engineer specializing in Manufacturing will collaborate extensively with various departments including Production, Business Development, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain Management. This role focuses on enhancing customer quoting processes, refining manufacturing methodologies, and boosting operational efficiency within the UPM Additive Solutions division.

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. On-Site.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess manufacturing workflows by designing and executing research initiatives; leveraging expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; engaging with equipment suppliers; gathering insights from operators.
  • Formulate and execute manufacturing protocols by analyzing product specifications; researching, designing, modifying, and testing production techniques, machinery, and innovative technologies; liaising with equipment vendors.
  • Enhance manufacturing productivity by evaluating and organizing workflow, spatial requirements, and equipment arrangement.
  • Ensure product and process integrity by developing testing methodologies and control systems; evaluating finished product and process capabilities; establishing benchmarks; validating manufacturing procedures to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist in recognizing and implementing corrective measures for nonconforming components.

ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING TASKS:

  • Programming of machinery and measurement devices; troubleshooting programming malfunctions; diagnosing operational issues; providing effective solutions.
  • Proactively analyze, identify, and implement strategies to resolve production challenges and/or reduce costs.
  • Design of manufacturing equipment fixtures, tooling, and gauging systems. Machine programming, quality engineering process design, and implementation.
  • Maintain professional and technical expertise by participating in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, building professional networks, and engaging in professional organizations.
