Position Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be engaged in full-time operations at STREET LEGAL INDUSTRIES INC, focusing on mechanical engineering and construction management. The role demands a professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary project engineer, delivering professional and technical leadership.
  • Oversee contractor-led construction initiatives on behalf of the organization.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on national standards and practices related to mechanical and electrical engineering for large-scale civil works projects.
  • Participate in design evaluations, providing constructive feedback on submitted engineering designs and plans.
  • Ensure quality assurance through oversight and comprehensive documentation.
  • Recommend necessary corrective actions to maintain high performance standards in contractor-executed projects.
  • Assist in interpreting and enforcing contractual obligations regarding mechanical and electrical engineering deliverables.
  • Advise on the authorization of progress payments based on adherence to quality standards.
  • Utilize the USACE Resident Management System (RMS) as applicable.

Preferred Experience:

  • Mechanical systems and equipment including:
  • Lock operating machinery and utilities
  • Hydraulic systems and controls
  • Pumping systems and plumbing
  • Power transmission mechanisms
  • Lubrication systems
  • Compressed air systems
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning for small facilities
  • Fire protection systems

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction or engineering design and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state. A bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering is required.
