The Mechanical Engineer in Manufacturing will collaborate closely with various departments including Production, Business Development, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain Management. This role focuses on developing, assessing, and enhancing customer quoting, manufacturing methodologies, and operational efficiency within the UPM Additive Solutions sector. The engineer will also ensure product and process integrity by formulating testing protocols, compiling product and process documentation, and contributing valuable research in manufacturing engineering.
WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. On-Site.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Key Responsibilities in Manufacturing Processes:- Assess manufacturing workflows by designing and executing research initiatives; leveraging knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; consulting with equipment suppliers; gathering insights from operators.
- Establish and enhance manufacturing procedures by analyzing product specifications; researching, designing, adapting, and testing manufacturing techniques, machinery, and innovative technologies; collaborating with equipment suppliers.
- Boost manufacturing productivity by evaluating and strategizing workflow, spatial needs, and equipment arrangement.
- Guarantee product and process quality by developing testing methodologies and control systems; evaluating finished products and process capabilities; setting standards; validating manufacturing processes; achieving optimal efficiency.
- Assist in recognizing and executing corrective measures for nonconforming components.
- Programming of machinery and measurement tools; troubleshoot programming malfunctions; diagnose operational issues; provide effective solutions.
- Proactively analyze, identify, and implement procedures and/or processes to address production challenges and/or reduce costs.
- Design of Manufacturing Equipment Fixtures, Tooling, and Gauging. Machine Programming, Quality Engineering process design, and execution.
- Maintain professional and technical expertise by participating in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, building professional networks, and engaging in professional organizations.
