Position Overview
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of HVAC systems and associated equipment. You will coordinate daily operations of specific projects to ensure that all contractual obligations are fulfilled efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize advanced technical expertise to support fellow service representatives in resolving issues.
  • Exhibit a strong interest in mentoring and training others.
  • Be a reliable resource for training service technicians and apprentices.
  • Guide technicians in problem-solving without providing direct solutions.
  • Stay informed on the latest technical knowledge related to equipment and industry concepts.
  • Assess whether to repair or replace equipment when faced with challenges.
  • Research and consult relevant manuals and online resources.
  • Engage with technical organizations to enhance your technical skills.
  • Manage a high volume of service calls effectively.
  • Employ systematic questioning techniques to address customer complaints and relate findings to system performance.
  • Follow detailed troubleshooting protocols to identify faults promptly.
  • Conduct thorough checks of the entire system to minimize unnecessary callbacks.
  • Ensure safety and limit controls are properly set before concluding work.
  • Seek assistance when confronted with complex issues to ensure resolution before leaving the site.
  • Use appropriate tools and instruments for effective troubleshooting.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and departure from job sites, including plans for follow-up visits.
  • Investigate customer complaints to uncover the root cause of issues.
  • Respond to customer concerns with empathy and understanding.
  • Instruct customers on proper system usage when misuse is identified.
  • Provide assurance to customers that issues are resolved, explaining the causes and remedies, and suggesting next steps if further action is needed.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively by adhering to scheduled calls and managing interruptions smoothly.
  • Ensure all necessary tools and materials are available upon arrival at job sites.
  • Plan maintenance for service vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Obtain customer signatures on service reports prior to commencing work.
  • Keep management informed of any negative developments or customer dissatisfaction.
  • Adapt communication to ensure understanding across various levels of technical knowledge.
  • Train customer personnel to handle emergencies independently and recognize when to request service.
  • Identify essential training needs for customers and allocate time to address them.
  • Generate qualified leads for the sales team.
  • Inform sales of competitive activities and potential opportunities to support operational goals.
  • Determine the responsible parties within the customer's organization for the mechanical systems being serviced.
  • Persuade customers to upgrade outdated systems and provide recommendations.
  • Assist the sales team in pricing agreements and project proposals.
  • Support any special projects assigned by management, which may evolve into primary responsibilities.
  • When the Supervisor is present, lead smaller work groups as needed.
  • Report performance issues to the Supervisor, as disciplinary authority is not granted to this position.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must meet all requirements for working in specific environments, including a ten-year work history if available.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in customer service.
  • At least one year of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Two years of experience in commercial HVAC.
