Job Description:

Event Planners & Catering Staff is a leading provider of professional event planning and catering services, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Event Chef to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented and dedicated individual to oversee the culinary aspects of our events, ensuring exceptional quality, presentation, and service. As a Catering Event Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • Estimating, planning, and directing food preparation and kitchen activities to meet quality, health, safety, and budgetary standards.
  • Creating or modifying menus to suit client preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Arranging for equipment purchases or rentals to support event operations.
  • Overseeing and directing kitchen setup and breakdown, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Preparing and serving food within specific event time frames, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of prior experience in a professional kitchen, with a focus on high-end food and catering production.
  • Reliability, responsibility, and exceptional leadership skills to supervise kitchen staff.
  • Excellent knife skills, cooking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Great attitude, with the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and think quickly on your feet.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to stand for most of the workday and lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Part-time, on-call position for upscale catered and non-catered events, with mostly weekend and evening hours.
  • Culinary degree not required but a plus, with Serve Safe certification also a plus.
  • Ability to help kitchen staff load, drive, and unload a van/truck, as needed.
