Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning and costing of menus to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and write standard recipes to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Develop new dishes and products to stay ahead of the competition and meet customer demands.
  • Ensure that outstanding culinary technical skills are maintained through ongoing training and development.
  • Assist with organizing special events and food promotions to drive revenue and customer engagement.
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge, including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets, and current trends, to make recommendations for adjustments to kitchen operations.
  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen environment and ensure all equipment is clean and well-maintained.
  • Clean the kitchen and equipment to maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and adhere to all health and safety protocols.
  • Supervise and train assigned employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Work with the Master Chef to plan and manage manpower needs.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Culinary Skills or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees, and third parties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local government agency.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.
  • 2 years of experience as a chef or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
