Position Overview:
The Assistant Culinary Manager will take charge of all facets of team dynamics to foster a positive, compliant, and collaborative work atmosphere. This pivotal role is essential for the efficient and profitable functioning of our operations. The individual must demonstrate exceptional attendance and be prepared to work a flexible schedule driven by events, including evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and robust management and independent decision-making capabilities are crucial.

Compensation:
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $24 to $27, in addition to tips.

Venue Description:
Angel Of The Winds Arena is a cutting-edge, multi-purpose facility located in downtown Everett, WA. Managed by Oak View Group, this venue is renowned for hosting a diverse array of events, partnering with over 300 clients to deliver memorable experiences to millions of visitors annually. The arena features an NHL regulation ice rink, versatile event spaces for indoor football, trade shows, concerts, and a full conference center suitable for conventions, meetings, weddings, and banquets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the back-of-house setup for restaurant functions, suites, and premium areas, including catering services.
  • Ensure high operational standards and efficient execution of events by collaborating respectfully with front-of-house staff.
  • Manage the opening and closing procedures of all kitchen areas and staff check-outs.
  • Maintain health, sanitation, and safety standards within work areas.
  • Ensure all equipment is functional and clean prior to event commencement.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, training, food production, clean-up, post-event reconciliation, and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to Culinary Leads, Cooks, and Dishwashers.
  • Assist with staff assignments on event days.
  • Properly manage inventory levels, ensuring items are labeled and dated.
  • Be prepared to fill any open positions to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to service standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance and compliance with company policies.
  • Support management with various projects, including training, inventory management, and special events.
  • Perform any additional duties as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Proven track record in kitchen and staff management.
  • Ability to respond swiftly and accurately in emergency situations.
  • Capability to oversee the work of others effectively.
  • Experience in food preparation, cooking, and menu development.
  • Strong knife skills and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of staff and guests, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Possession of a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit as required by regulations.
