About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at AEG. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive and harmonious work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Management: Supervise the BOH setup of the restaurant functions, suites & premium area as well as catering, ensuring smooth and efficient execution of events.
  • Operational Expertise: Provide high-level oversight and operational expertise, working together with FOH staff in a respectful manner to achieve profitable execution of events.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas, ensuring the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event.
  • Staff Management: Provide directions and oversight to Culinary Leads, Cooks & Steward/Dishwashers, assist with staff placement on event day, and maintain inventory levels.
  • Company Standards: Ensure the location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met.
  • Policies and Procedures: Enforce all Oak View Group policies and procedures, and assist the Management team with projects including training, inventory, and special events.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in supervision, with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent record of kitchen and staff management, with accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner.
  • Certifications: Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
