Job Overview:

The Petroleum Quality Assurance Inspector is tasked with conducting thorough inspections to determine the quantity of petroleum products in various storage and transportation mediums, including shore tanks, railcars, and tank trucks. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate quantity surveys and involves collecting samples for subsequent laboratory analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical sampling, measurement, and temperature assessment of shore tanks utilizing diverse methodologies.
  • Calculate and document quantities transferred, ensuring comprehensive reconciliation.
  • Complete all necessary reports and documentation with precision.
  • Collaborate effectively with client representatives, regulatory agents, and facility personnel.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with office personnel regarding job progress.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and client-specific procedures.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Inspector Trainees.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Petroleum Inspection within the Oil, Gas, and Chemical sectors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Basic mathematical skills with a good understanding of fractions.
  • Capability to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Physical ability to climb storage tank ladders and stairs, lift up to 75 pounds, and accurately distinguish colors.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possession of reliable, insured transportation and all necessary licenses.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and work independently.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to convert information into actionable solutions.
