Job Description

Dewberry's office is seeking a highly skilled Discipline Lead - Mechanical to oversee the delivery of engineering services and lead a team of professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project assignments, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely completion of projects. Additionally, they will assist Project/Client Managers by providing engineering resources and guidance to meet client needs and budget requirements.

Responsibilities

The Discipline Lead - Mechanical will be responsible for:

  • Managing project assignments and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Providing engineering resources and guidance to Project/Client Managers
  • Assisting in the development of project budgets and fee proposals
  • Reviewing project objectives and providing detailed scope of services for contracts
  • Identifying staff performing design of the project and Engineer of Record
  • Ensuring adherence to project design schedule and department project budgets
  • Providing general updates of projects, including status, tasks to complete, and percentage complete

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of experience as a Professional Engineer. They will be knowledgeable of the construction process, familiar with AIA construction contracts, and possess highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Experience in staff management, department management, and the design of various MEP systems is also required.
