Job Description

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated is seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Peoria, IL office. As a key member of our Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Group, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight to our design resources on various projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful completion of projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level direction to senior Mechanical engineering staff to ensure successful project completion.
  • Supervise Mechanical discipline managers within an office or business unit to ensure smooth intra-office operations.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in leading the MEPS Service Line's Mechanical community of practice to ensure successful inter-office mechanical operations.
  • Ensure Mechanical discipline managers are consistently applying and complying with corporate quality management processes and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving mechanical engineering.
  • Lead the development of office Mechanical standards and coordinate those standards through the Chief Engineer across offices.

Requirements:

  • Accomplished professional engineer (PE) with existing licensure in IL preferred.
  • Minimum 25 years of experience in technical oversight of multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized with good note-taking skills.
