About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Fabrications Project Engineer to join our team in Peoria, IL. As a key member of our global manufacturing fabrications team, you will play a critical role in driving the development of concurrent product and process design (CPPD) initiatives.

In this role, you will serve as a liaison between our design engineering teams and internal manufacturing partners, facilitating the development of common worldwide manufacturing processes and ensuring adherence to APQP guidelines. You will also lead the CPPD/ICT team to deliver projects on time and work closely with the PMO team to create project management plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of concurrent product and process design (CPPD) initiatives to drive common worldwide manufacturing processes
  • Facilitate the development of design for manufacturability (DFM) and process efficiency solutions
  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners and design engineering teams to ensure adherence to APQP guidelines
  • Lead the CPPD/ICT team to deliver projects on time and work closely with the PMO team to create project management plans
  • Develop and implement best practices and standards for manufacturing processes and activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in fabrications manufacturing process development, fabrications product design, or fabrication supplier development
  • Previous experience in Worldwide CPPD activities and Medium Wheel Loader fabrication experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes, including welding
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
