Position Overview:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy resilience for critical defense operations. Your expertise in energy system evaluation will be essential in crafting innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate with complex electrical infrastructures. This position focuses on identifying vulnerabilities within these systems and developing strategies to enhance energy resilience while promoting carbon pollution-free technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of energy systems to identify vulnerabilities and propose effective solutions.
  • Engage in the design and engineering of power systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with military installations to evaluate energy vulnerabilities and recommend projects that enhance climate resilience.
  • Explore the integration of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, into existing systems.
  • Provide insightful recommendations for system development, optimization, and improvement.
  • Travel periodically to military sites to support project evaluations and implementations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering applications related to energy systems.
  • Proficiency in power systems design and engineering practices.
  • Experience with energy infrastructure, including electrical transmission and distribution systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex energy systems and develop actionable requirements.
  • Willingness to travel between 25-50% of the time as needed.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in assessing the condition and vulnerability of energy infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70, IEEE, UFC, and UFGS standards.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • EIT Certification is a plus.

Security Clearance:

Applicants may be required to undergo a security investigation and meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
