Position Overview:

This position focuses on identifying vulnerabilities within critical infrastructure and developing strategies to enhance energy resilience while incorporating sustainable technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate energy vulnerabilities at military installations and propose comprehensive projects addressing electrical, mechanical, water, fuel, and communication systems.
  • Conduct assessments of energy infrastructure, focusing on the condition, quality, and potential risks associated with existing systems.
  • Provide insightful recommendations for the development, optimization, and enhancement of energy systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify energy resilience gaps and propose innovative energy projects that align with mission requirements.
  • Explore opportunities for integrating renewable energy sources into existing systems to improve reliability and sustainability.
  • Travel between 25-50% of the time to various military installations for project assessments and evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering applications, particularly in power systems design and engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with energy infrastructure, including electrical transmission and distribution systems, microgrids, and renewable technologies such as solar and wind.
  • Proficient in requirement development and analysis for complex energy systems.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in assessing the condition of energy infrastructure, including its age, quality, and vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Previous experience working with federal agencies or the Department of Defense.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as NFPA 70, IEEE, UFC, and UFGS.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • EIT Certification is a plus.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
