Dialysis Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Dialysis Patient Care Technician to join our team at Liberty Dialysis - Dimond. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our adult/geriatric ESRD patient population.
Key Responsibilities:- Pre-Dialysis Preparation: Prepare dialysis machines and their components for treatment, ensuring all necessary equipment is functioning properly.
- Patient Monitoring: Care for and monitor patients before, during, and post-dialysis treatment, recording vital signs and reporting any concerns to the healthcare team.
- Treatment Setup: Transport patients to and from treatment areas, setting up dialysis machines and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
- Patient Education: Explain dialysis procedures and machine operation to patients, addressing any anxieties or concerns they may have.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and clean dialysis equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and meets safety standards.
- Treatment Start-Up: Start patient treatment according to physician orders, monitoring the machine for any malfunctions or issues.
- Patient Safety: Monitor patients for adverse reactions and hemodialysis machine malfunctions, taking prompt action to address any concerns.
- Supply Management: Assist in inventory and supply stocking in the dialysis clinic, ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; evidence of such is required pre-employment.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred.
- Certifications: CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Color Vision: Ability to distinguish primary colors, as demonstrated by passing the Ishihara Color Vision Test.
- Training: Successful completion of our dialysis training program, including demonstrated competency, within 12 weeks of hire.
- Certification Requirements: Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved national certification requirements within the CMS timeline. Certification must be maintained as current and in good standing.
- Flexibility: Must be flexible to work most days/times (no set shifts).
- Communication: Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Computer Skills: Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all clinical applications is required within 90 days of hire.
- Time Management: Must be able to organize time and tasks well.
- Problem-Solving: Required use of problem-solving, analytical, and effective communication skills.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Interpersonal Skills: Must have interpersonal skills necessary to work with patients, staff, and all other individuals as required.
