We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a Hemo Dialysis Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our dialysis program.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience and IV placement experience required.
- Knowledge of specialty equipment and tool: Plasmapheresis preferred, Dialysis (prior experience preferred).
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification.
