Job Summary

The Garde Manger is a highly skilled culinary professional responsible for creating visually stunning displays and compositions of food. This role requires a deep understanding of culinary artistry, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and create artistic displays and compositions of food for various events and occasions.
  • Prepare and present high-quality food items, including salads, sandwiches, canapés, desserts, and sauces.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to ensure that all food preparations meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all safety and health regulations.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless food preparation and presentation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a kitchen environment preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a catering or fine dining establishment.
  • Current Safe Food Handling Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Measures of Success

Annual Performance Review will be conducted to evaluate the Garde Manger's performance, using results of the review to measure success.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as client orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply good judgment and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Physical Demands
