Position Overview:
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon Technologies, YOU will play a pivotal role in the advancement of cutting-edge flight-critical embedded software tailored for both military and commercial aviation sectors. YOU will be an integral part of a dedicated engineering team focused on the design, development, and validation of real-time embedded software solutions. Your collaboration with systems, software, and verification engineers will span various phases of the software development lifecycle. Your key responsibilities will encompass drafting, assessing, and validating software requirements for Engine and Control Systems, ensuring the safety of our military personnel and passengers alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in a collaborative team environment, overseeing the complete life-cycle development (planning, designing, and verifying) of environmental and airframe software control systems. Propel enhancements in systems/software engineering methodologies. Liaise with certification authorities to ensure compliance. Interact with essential stakeholders throughout the Software Product lifecycle. Coordinate and manage tasks effectively. Execute Software Design, Development, and Verification activities. Scrutinize software requirements to guarantee alignment with customer specifications. Oversee the implementation of software requirements utilizing design models and/or proprietary software code. Evaluate software design and code to confirm adherence to software requirements. Create, review, and execute test scripts, analyzing the resulting data to support software verification testing. Generate documentation to facilitate software certification processes.Learning Opportunities:
Acquire skills in collaborative teamwork and full life-cycle development as a proficient systems software engineer, gaining specialized expertise in the aerospace sector. Contribute to the expansion of our software engineering team, enhancing our focus on customer satisfaction in terms of quality, scheduling, processes, and costs. Support software certifications for commercial aircraft, assist in customer investigations, and troubleshoot existing software application deficiencies.Required Qualifications:
A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience, or in the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in software requirements and verification for complex aerospace systems. Familiarity with aerospace certification standards, including DO178. Proficiency in simulation, scripting, test automation, and documentation tools (e.g., Veristand/LabView, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, DOORS). Experience with Agile Framework methodologies. Strong communication abilities, particularly in presenting technical information. Background in aerospace engineering.Benefits:

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD, reflective of various experience levels. Compensation is determined by multiple factors, including role responsibilities, candidate experience, and location.
