Position Overview:

As a Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aerospace technology. Your expertise will contribute to the development of advanced flight-critical embedded software for both military and commercial aviation applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to engage in the complete life-cycle development of environmental and airframe software control systems. Enhance systems and software engineering processes for improved efficiency. Liaise with certification authorities to ensure compliance with industry standards. Interact with key stakeholders to align on software product requirements. Coordinate project tasks effectively to meet deadlines. Conduct software design, development, and verification activities. Review software requirements to ensure they meet customer specifications. Implement software requirements using design models and proprietary coding languages. Evaluate software design and code for adherence to established requirements. Generate and execute test scripts, analyzing data to support software verification efforts. Produce documentation necessary for software certification processes.

Gain valuable experience working collaboratively in a team environment, mastering full life-cycle development as a proficient systems software engineer. Contribute to the expansion of our software engineering team, focusing on enhancing customer satisfaction in terms of quality, schedule, and cost. Support software certifications for commercial aircraft and assist in troubleshooting existing software applications.

Required Qualifications:

A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to access restrictions on sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in software requirements and verification for complex aerospace systems. Familiarity with aerospace certification standards, including DO-178. Proficiency in simulation, scripting, test automation, and documentation tools (e.g., Veristand/LabView, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, DOORS). Experience with Agile Framework methodologies. Strong communication skills with a background in presenting technical information. Prior experience in the aerospace sector.
