Role Summary:
Our client’s Propeller Systems division is in search of a skilled Systems Engineer to engage in diverse systems engineering tasks. This role involves supporting certified propeller systems across a wide range of aircraft in both commercial and military sectors, while also contributing to significant upgrade initiatives and preparing for future propeller system developments. You will collaborate with various teams within the global organization, including systems, drafting, design, aerodynamic analysis, and engineering labs, as well as program organizations. Your engineering responsibilities will often involve teamwork with colleagues at the client’s facility in France.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute systems engineering tasks to support existing products and develop modifications for military and commercial propeller systems.
  • Typical duties include:
    • Development of propeller control systems, including defining control laws.
    • Providing customer fleet support, including troubleshooting investigations and technical requests.
    • Assisting aircraft modification sites and conducting post-installation system checks.
    • Supporting upgrades to legacy propeller test rigs.
    • Dynamic modeling of propeller and control systems.
    • Contributing to system safety and conducting Failure Modes Effects and Criticality analyses for propeller hardware and software.
    • Generating reports based on engineering analyses and testing activities.
    • Supporting laboratory and production testing, including production acceptance and various system tests.
    • Regular collaboration with engineering teams in both locations.
    • Occasional travel may be required to support suppliers, customers, and aircraft operators.
    • Perform additional duties as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Background in systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with aerospace systems software, including DO-178.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
  • Experience with hydraulic and mechanical control systems.
  • Knowledge of Python or other high-level programming languages.
  • Experience working with diverse international teams.
Additional Information:
  • Travel may be required to support propeller troubleshooting and training, potentially involving 2-4 trips of one week each.
