Position Overview:

At Nightwing, we are at the forefront of transforming aerospace technology. As a Senior Systems Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the creation of cutting-edge embedded software for both military and commercial aviation sectors.

Your Role:

In this position, YOU will be an integral part of our engineering team, tasked with the design, development, and validation of real-time embedded software. Your collaboration with systems, software, and verification engineers will be crucial throughout the software development lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in comprehensive life-cycle development of environmental and airframe control software systems.
  • Enhancing systems/software engineering processes for improved efficiency.
  • Interfacing with certification authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinating tasks and managing software design, development, and verification activities.
  • Reviewing software requirements to ensure they meet customer specifications.
  • Implementing software requirements using design models and/or proprietary coding languages.
  • Conducting reviews of software design and code for compliance with established requirements.
  • Generating and executing test scripts to support software verification.
  • Creating documentation to facilitate aerospace certification processes.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Eligibility to obtain necessary export authorizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software requirements and verification for complex aerospace systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification standards, including DO178.
  • Proficiency in simulation, scripting, test automation, and documentation tools.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with a background in presenting technical information.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace industry.
