Role Summary:

We are in search of a proficient CADD Developer-Engineer Tech to provide dedicated on-site support for engineering operations. This role will focus on the upkeep and enhancement of electronic engineering drawings, as well as contributing to various engineering design and construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update electronic engineering drawings, including Life Safety, fire alarm, fire suppression, mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and electrical schematics.
  • Document as-built modifications through additions, relocations, and alterations in existing MEP and architectural frameworks.
  • Create and revise air and water flow diagrams, control schematics, floor plans, and other essential deliverables to assist in planning, operations, maintenance, design, construction, and commissioning tasks.
  • Convert existing PDF scans of facilities into AutoDesk or other engineering design software formats when original engineering drawings are unavailable.
  • Assist with internal and external requests for fire protection and life safety facility drawing files, as well as project folder organization.
  • Conduct quality control assessments of completed designs.
  • Research applications for fire and HVAC systems and participate in required training for professional growth.
  • Engage in engineering quality control processes, including testing for fire alarms, fire pumps, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Perform field surveys to develop new designs, verify drawing accuracy, and support installation teams in complex projects.
  • Assist in life safety assessments to ensure compliance with relevant codes and document any building deficiencies observed during site evaluations.
  • Conduct functional testing and commissioning for governmental system acceptance.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in computer-aided design from an accredited institution or a specialty certificate in computer-aided design from a recognized technical college.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, fire protection, or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience collaborating with engineers using Autodesk and similar computer-aided design software.
  • Familiarity with facility management, building infrastructure systems, and standard drawing and component naming conventions.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to integrate information from various sources into different systems, ensuring proper system interfaces.
  • Capability to collect data for analysis and develop resulting projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work across functions to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Understanding of other engineering disciplines and the ability to interpret various styles of trade drawings for effective coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills for delivering professional presentations to leadership and large audiences.
