Job Overview

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in managing the Night Audit process and overseeing front desk operations during the overnight hours, typically from 11 PM to 7 AM. Key duties include guest registration, reservation management, daily report preparation, transaction balancing, and conducting security inspections.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the hospitality industry or a related field.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • College coursework in a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles is essential.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving guest issues and emergencies.
  • Competence in Windows operating systems and standard office software.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly.
  • Quick and accurate decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in identifying, preventing, and solving workplace problems.
  • Capability to assimilate complex information from various sources.
  • Understanding of financial data and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to thrive in a self-managed work environment.
  • Strong listening skills to address concerns from guests and colleagues.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations.

Core Duties:

  • Engage with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to attendance standards as per company scheduling requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of personal grooming and uniform compliance.
  • Follow all company policies and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Complete the End of Day process and run necessary reports for audits.
  • Balance daily transactions, including various revenue streams.
  • Manage front office computer systems in accordance with company standards.
  • Handle guest requests and inquiries during overnight hours.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and emergency protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs as per company guidelines.
  • Familiarize oneself with company policies and house rules.
  • Assist in training new Night Auditors as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports and manage delivery of newspapers.
  • Conduct nightly inspections to ensure security and cleanliness.
  • Address lost and found items according to company standards.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
