FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Work Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. / Mon. - Fri.

SUMMARY: The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager and the project team to achieve the company's objectives. This position is responsible for overseeing and directing assigned construction projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and with allocated resources. The Project Engineer will work closely with the project management team to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential to this role:
  • Assist in the management and execution of project contract terms.
  • Prepare and present reports and spreadsheets using computer software.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control for project materials and equipment, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project superintendents by visiting job sites regularly.
  • Generate and manage project documentation throughout all phases of construction, including requests for information, submittals, project plans, specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, efficiency, and integrity in all work products.
  • Exhibit flexibility in work environments and project locations, with a requirement to travel to various job sites.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Participate in and lead meetings as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Internship experience in a related field and/or one to three years of experience in mechanical, plumbing, or industrial HVAC.
  • Familiarity with various field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Understanding of construction contract terminology.
  • Local market knowledge is a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to various industry-specific software as required by the project.

  • Ability to meet project deadlines and expectations.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to achieve results through collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including employees, government agencies, and subcontractors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands of this position include regular sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing. Employees may need to use hands for various tasks, walk, reach, climb, and occasionally lift up to twenty-five pounds. Regular commuting to field locations is required.
